FLASHport® Aftermarket Software is used to upgrade the existing System Software Package or to add Enhancement Options to existing KVL (Key Variable Loaders.)  The FLASHport® Upgrade Kit contains:

• Relevant software on a CD-Rom
• Upgrade Instructions

The KVL Software Upgrade DOES require the use of a personal computer and programming cable.  The software is delivered via the CD-Rom.

1. Each Upgrade Kit consists of a CD-Rom that can upgrade one individual KVL.
2. Tech Edit will request for KVL Serial Number and Current Operation Mode Programmed in KVL. Please have this information ready when ordering KVL Flashport.
3. Modem (DSSTAR56KMODEM) is required for ASTRO 25 modem when using KVL-KMF communication remotely. Note: KVL5000 must be upgraded to at least the R8.0 software (OS version R01.07.05 & HSM version R50.07.10) to use this modem.
4. USB/ethernet adapter (DSPSA1U1EE) is REQUIRED for -

• ASTRO 25 MODE when using KVL-KMF communication remotely via IP connectivity
• USB/ethernet adapter (DSPSA1U1EE) is REQUIRED for Radio Authentication.

REMINDER: You will be required to enter the Serial Number of the KVL you will be upgrading.  KVL serial numbers begin with 201.  Failure to enter the correct KVL serial number may result in a non-functional Upgrade CD.

REMINDER: The algorithm, DES, is only available on APX 6000 and above.
